BPW Galway: Minding Your Mental Health Webinar - Tools To Aid Sleep and Overcome Anxiet


On Thursday 18th March at 7:30pm BPW Galway will host a free webinar as part of their Minding your Mental Health Series. In this Webinar Dr. Niamh Flynn, Sports and Performance Psychologist specialising in hypnosis will explore how the pandemic is affecting our stress levels, leading to disruption of quality sleep.


Annette Walsh President BPW Galway, said "This webinar is quite timely as it coincides with World Sleep Day on March 19th with sleep professionals advocating globally on the importance of sleep for achieving an optimal quality of life and improve global health. This year their slogan is 'Regular Sleep for a Healthy Future.' We are delighted to welcome Dr Flynn as guest speaker of this webinar. Dr. Flynn has over 20 years of experience working with elite athletes and business people. She will provide a variety of tools to aid sleep and overcome anxiety in this one hour virtual event."

Dr. Flynn said "Sleep deprivation can lead to a host of unwelcome problems such as inability to concentrate, poor coordination and irritability. Chronic sleep deprivation can compromise the immune system and lead to other health problems. Now more than ever before we need to support our immune system functioning so it's essential to get sufficient sleep every night and there are lots of options available to help improve our sleep patterns"
