BPW Galway Celebrating International Women’s Day with Dr. Maeve O’Rourke

Updated: Nov 5, 2020

BPW Galway will host an evening with Dr. Maeve O’Rourke on Monday 9th March at 7:30pm in the Ardilaun Hotel to acknowledge International Women’s Day. Dr. O' Rourke, a lecturer and practitioner in Human Rights Law will outline her career to date as well as her current projects including her pro bono work with Justice for the Magdalenes Research and Clann: Ireland’s Unmarried Mothers and their Children.

International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women - while also marking a call to action for accelerating gender equality. This year the campaign theme is #EachForEqual. An equal world is an enabled world. Individually, we're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions - all day, every day. We can actively choose to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women's achievements. Collectively, each one of us can help create a gender-equal world.

The evening will commence with an opportunity to mix and mingle from 7:30pm, the guest lecture will start at 8pm. To RSVP for this FREE event please go to https://bpwgalwayiwd.eventbrite.ie.
