BPW Galway Marks 40 Years of Empowering Women with Landmark Celebration and Global Leadership in Attendance
BPW Galway celebrated its 40th anniversary on Friday, 15 May, honoring four decades of advocacy, leadership, and community impact for women in business and the professions. The milestone event brought together many of BPW Galway’s past presidents, international dignitaries, and more than 200 attendees for an inspiring evening of reflection and renewed purpose.
Founded in 1986 by the late Breda Ryan—one of Galway’s most respected business leaders—BPW Galway has grown into a dynamic network championing women’s economic empowerment, professional development, and equal opportunities across the region and beyond.
The anniversary celebration welcomed distinguished global leaders of BPW:
-
Diana Barragán, International President of BPW (Ecuador)
-
Anu Viks, BPW Europe Regional Coordinator (Estonia)
Their presence underscored BPW Galway’s strong ties to the international BPW movement and the city’s role in shaping the conversation on women’s leadership across Europe and worldwide.
Keynote speaker Larisa Miller, CEO of Phoenix Global (USA), delivered a compelling address on the future of leadership, sustainable growth, and the power of women-led innovation. Her insights resonated with the audience of over 200 women, sparking thoughtful discussion and a renewed commitment to collaboration and impact.
