BPW Galway: Building Resilience Through Psychological First Aid & Compassion Focussed Therapy

BPW Galway will host a webinar on Wednesday night 12th May at 7:30pm on Building Resilience through Psychological First Aid and Compassion Focussed Therapy.

The free webinar delivered by Clare Gormley, HSE Director of Psychology for Galway and Roscommon Psychology Services will cover areas including the introduction to principles of ‘Psychological First Aid’ recommended by WHO, an overview of Compassion Focussed Therapy and building resilience and self-care for yourself, your employees and your family.

Speaking about the webinar Clare said “This presentation will outline ideas from Psychological First Aid and Professor Paul Gilbert’s Compassionate Mind Theory to help build resilience. As we start to move towards a better stage of the Covid-19 pandemic, there will be space for reflection and processing what we have been though. Compassionate self-care will assist us in helping ourselves, those we work with and those dearest to us to recover and flourish. This session will aim to distil some of the key evidence-based approaches to supporting ourselves and others during a period of crisis and building resilience. I hope there will be some ideas for everyone that might help as we turn a corner towards recovery. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

As this webinar may count towards an attendees continuing professional development they may wish to consult with their individual regulatory body to confirm that this webinar is relevant and qualifies for CPD points.
